The Iloilo Provincial Government, through Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office-Energy Efficiency and Conservation Desk and Provincial Agriculture's Office, in partnership with Central Philippine University - Center for Affiliated Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CPU-CARE), is exploring the potential development of a Floating Solar PV System at the ART Centerβan innovative renewable energy initiative that seeks to maximize available water resources while supporting the Provinceβs transition toward clean and sustainable energy.
The proposed floating solar project will involve the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels mounted on the suitable surface of fish ponds. Before proceeding with the proposed floating solar installation, a baseline assessment will be undertaken to determine the Art Centerβs existing energy consumption and operational requirements. This baseline information will provide the necessary reference for determining the appropriate size and capacity of the proposed Floating Solar PV System.
The proposed Floating Solar Project at the Iloilo Art Center represents an opportunity to demonstrate how renewable energy, innovation, aquaculture, and environmental sustainability can come together in one initiative.
